most data model panel interaction will be via the main menu and ribbon functions below is a detailed explanation of each function the connect function allows users to establish a new link to a data set when this function is selected, a standard windows folder dialog will open, allowing users to choose a folder amics reports will then add the selected folder and all nested folders to the data source panel disconnect allows users to remove a data folder from the data source this function is only available when a folder has been selected in the data source panel; otherwise, it will be greyed out it also indicates the correct data level that has been selected for removal the refresh function will have amics reports check all the data folders in the data source panel and update new data or folders added since the data folder was initially connected amics reports will auto check the data source locations for new data during the initial boot up of the application this function will set amics reports to hide or show any invalid data set, generally due to the lack of a correct data model for the data set the default setting is to show all data, valid or invalid, and it is suggested that you leave this activated this option will save any changes to the data tables back to the json data string however, the raw data can not be changed; only headers and metadata can be changed the reset changes option is equivalent to an undo button it will remove any changes made to headers and some metadata note the reset option will only work if changes have not been saved once changes are saved, this option will be greyed out this function will manually add a new column to the json data set any column can be added if the user needs to add additional data for visualization and reporting manually this option is generally used to create user define data model, rather than allowing amics reports to auto generate the add grouping button will open a new windows dialog, allowing users to create a new column that contains the outcome of the combination of rows this is equivalent to the material grouping function in amics, and more detail can be found docid\ fhfopa9ek8r6fa9mdlgr3 the add binning function will open a new windows dialog, allowing users to group numeric values into defined bins this is similar to add grouping but for numerical data more detailed usage is provided in docid\ qos5b4 4v e uyc0tmkzm the add classification function allows users to create rules via boolean, algebraic, and conditional operators, to be able to categorize the data into user defined classes more detail usage of this function is provided docid\ nmq29iy cwfwebser0fsd the add reference function allows the user to create a link to data from another table, using a given column key this is useful when building more complex classification classes, more details usage instructions is provided docid\ zuprkvz35edykn6kcncza the remove column option will allow users to delete the selected column of data from the data table this function is generally used to modify a user created data model rather than changing the auto generated model note when the data is reclassified, any default columns from amics will be replaced by amics process to avoid data corruption, only remove user created columns the add filtering function allows users to remove columns or rows of data from the data visulisation and reporting filtering does not delete any data, but will only hide it from use more detail uages instructions is provided docid\ kvyddzktibotu2ro6366a
